Well my friends in the wake of the enlightening and alarming post made by the LJ PTB, I am seriously considering making the full time move to GreatestJournal. I have serious reservations about any company that would do business in this fashion. I find the idea that they've done this; not based on legal or humanitarian concern for underage customers and children in general; but to foster a 'community' that fits their vision the most alarming of all.
I am an adult and what I choose to write about will be just that my *choice* as well as it is yours to click the links and read it.
Our decision here was not based on pure legal issues. It was based on what community we want to build and what we think is appropriate within that community and what's not.

Now from that I garner that they want to build a Utopia according to LJ world but the problem with that, is what will be the next thing they feel isn't appropriate for their wholesome image? Slash? Fanfiction as a whole? Fanart? Free speech when it contridicts their party dogma?
I guess in the course of typing this... I find that I have already made the decision. I'm moving to GT full time as of the end of this notice.
I will continue this journal ONLY for those of you who are going to stay here so we don't lose touch but I will not be posting any work to this site as of this moment.
So I bid adieu to LiveJournal while I still have some fond memories of it remaining.
My new journal home will of course also be locked but only because as a parent, I feel the need to at least make an attempt to keep underage readers away from my adult work.
I am of course inviting all of you to make this journey with me.
All of you are welcome, talkers and lurkers alike.
I just can't stay here any longer when at any moment I could be turned on for what I choose to write. That may or may not come to be but I know that the possibility of it is more than implied in the company's statement to the press. I choose to exercise my right to get the hell away from these narrow-minded people. They have simply taken things too far in their efforts to 'cleanse' their service. And think about that people. give it long and careful consideration and see if you still want to stay here after that. I did... and I don't. So I bid you all hugs and handshakes and wish those staying here well.
